“I was standing on the shore in Niigata, Japan without even perceiving that I was seeing ‘the sky and the sea’ I was sort of, looking at things that were present before my eyes without feeling any obligation to name them”. With this preface, opening at Galleria Monteoliveto in Naples, on October 29, of the first solo exhibition in Italy of the paintings of the Japanese artist Daisuke Minowa. Strong artworks where medias, colours and techniques merge altogether, offering us what the French critic of art Brigitte Camus calls “deflagration of colours, lines and forms” Daisuke Minowa was introduced to painting by the art teacher Mari Tomonagawa. In the catalogue of the exhibition, texts by Brigitte Camus (Paris), Chiara Ciappelloni (Viterbo), and Gianni Nappa (Naples) and the special greetings  from the land of the Rising Sun, where he became the second most famous Italian after Leonardo da Vinci, by Girolamo Panzetta “to this interesting Japanese artist … hoping he will find again the blue of the skies of Tokyo. Presentation by Gianni Nappa.

From Tokyo, London and Nice, a series of artworks from the small to the wide format, illustrating the path of the artist from 2003 to nowadays.
