Stefano Di Maulo was born in Rome in 1958 His artistic activity started in the'80s, with the creation of some ceramic sculptures. Sold in a short time the interest in this type of research, he decides to explore the potential of new materials and started working on the series of "formal experimentation" overturning the use of technical execution through the  decontextualisation of common subjects (remember the "cloning"). The multi-path of Di Maulo artworks, which will lead us around the second half of the ‘90s to the modeling of ants, has the use of metaphor as the common denominator in the various creative stages, with precise references to human nature and the modern society.
The search o Di Maulo is discrete and solitary. A work where consistency is free from modes.
He lives and works in Viterbo.
